I COULDA’ BEEN SOMEBODY ————- by Steve Nadis
I got a letter the other day from John S. Milone, President & CEO of National Register’s Who’s Who, who took time out of his busy day to give me the opportunity to be cited in his prestigious volume, which is registered each year with the Library of Congress (ISBN 0-9702264-3-8) in Washington, D.C. John, himself, is probably not doing too shabby. His office is located at “Two Wall Street,” which is an impressive address. And the fifth floor suite–undoubtedly with at least one window, if not two or more–is sure to afford spectacular views of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the bridge running between them whose name suddenly escapes me. It was a tempting offer but I turned him down, despite the fact that no annual dues or fees were involved, mainly because I respect my privacy too much. Deep down I’m a modest person and even though I’m exceedingly accomplished, with an awe-inspiring list of credits to my name, I try to keep that kind of information to myself, rather than trumpeting it for all the world to see and hear. So thanks again John, but I’m not really a “Who’s Who” kind of guy. Now if you ever publish something along the lines of “Who’s Not,” please keep me in mind.

I received the letter too. Is it for real??
Hi anon — Yeah I think it is "for real" in a sense. They just want your money & once they get it I suppose they will write something. That’s my guess, anyways, but I personally would not pay the dough.
I spoke to a women named Carol regarding an inside sales position at Who’s Who. I called her today with several questions regarding the position. I then told her I would get back with her if I required any addition information. Her response was to hang up on me. If she was an employee of mine, she would have been dismissed on the spot as there is no excuse for out and out rudness.

That is shabby treatment. Which is why I’ve made it a policy not to be associated with Who’s Who or What’s What for that matter.
Having worked for John’s company I can tell you that it is a scam. But that doesn’t mean they all are. Some who’s who are very credible.
Thanks anon for setting the record straight.
Global registers Who’s Who is a joke!!! John Milone’s company makes other Who’s Who companies look bad! The manner in which they hire people is horrible. If you are black, you either don’t get hired or you get fired! You could be a hard worker and really make money for the company but if you have a funeral to attend or get sick…. you’re fired! If you speak to the girls in the front office… you’re fired! But the best is if you are a skank and flirt with the boss the girls in the office get fired and she gets hired!!!!
not a flattering portrait, the way you paint it…
I have had the misfortune of doing business with John Milone, and can not say anything good about him as well.
Thanks Anon, sounds like a pattern…
I interviewed with Global Register’s Who’s Who and John Milone, if you worked for him can you give me insite on the job, is it for real or bs. Do you get paid whats due to you and do they really publish the books??
THIS COMMENT IS SO FALSE. IT MUST HAVE BEEN MADE BY SOMEONE WHO COULDN~T KEEP UP WITH THE DEMANDS OF THE JOB. I HAVE WORKED FOR JOHN AND HE IS VERY FAIR AND HONEST. ONLY THE PEOPLE WHO COULD NOT PERFORM WOULD SPEAK NEGATIVELY ABOUT THE MAN.
SO I SAY…… GET A LIFE
IT IS AS REAL AS THE SUN RISE AND SUN SET.
GOOD LUCK
If you have had the opportunity to do business with john milone it would not have only been once. There is not a more productive honest person to do business with. AND BOY DOES THE MAN KNOW HOW TO MAKE MONEY. NOT ONLY FOR HIMSELF BUT EVERYONE AROUND HIM.
Ofcourse this only applies to people who have good work ethic and don`t expect to just be handed a bucket of gold. I hate the people who bad mouth people who did good financially. You sound like one of those people that thinks the world owes you a big bank account because you didn`t do it yourself.
