KARL CASTS ROVING EYE ——————– by Steve Nadis
Clinton got impeached for exercising discretion: He failed to admit to having oral sex with a consenting adult who happened to be someone other than his wife. Will Rove be punished for his transgression? Maybe not because Karl Rove, as everyone knows, is very important to President George W. Bush. Karl Rove, as everyone suspects, is the architect of our brilliant domestic and foreign policies. He’s responsible for many of the great successes of the Bush Administration (can you name them?). It’s doubtful that President W. could get along without a man who’s so skilled at pulling W’s strings.
On the other hand, it’s worth noting that Bill Clinton was very important to President William Jefferson Clinton, as well. And that didn’t keep him from being impeached.
Karl Rove is a self-made man who worked his way up from nothing. You wouldn’t be talking about him if he wasn’t very good at what he does. Do you think he wastes his time talking about you?
Yes Burt, you’re absolutely right. I’m sure Rove has more important things to do with his time than waste it on the likes of me. Who knows? At this very moment, he may be setting up other unsuspecting CIA agents for a big fall. And thanks Burt for not calling me "pantywaste." Your sensitivity in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Gentlemen, must you persist in this childish sniping? Why don’t you admit you love each other and get it over with?
First of all, I agree with Lindsey. This Snake-Burt thing is beginning to sound a little like the dialogue from "Me, Myself and Irene".
Second of all, for a deep, analytical understanding of Karl Rove’s actions vis-a-vis Valerie Plame (the CIA agent in question), take a look at this:
Top Bunch O’ Reasons Karl Rove Might Have Leaked Plame’s Name
Woops! Something went wrong there. I’ll try again. But if it still doesn’t work, click on the URL link near my name.
Top Bunch O Reasons
Yeah, Snake, you got a problem with the web site there. When someone puts a link in the Comment field, the blogging software is adding your URL (http://cambridgeguy.blog.com) to the link, which basically makes it useless.
Is there some geek in charge who can fix this?
In the meantime, I’ll try the link in plain text. Maybe your blogging software will automatically make it "clickable". If not, you’ll have to copy it into your browser (assuming anyone’s even still interested now):

OK, guys, I’ll take Lindsey’s (and apparently Gatemouth’s) advice. Burt, I do love you for your candor and for having the guts to say things that more polite people might refrain from. You’re not terribly supportive, but you do seem to speak your mind. As for that technical matter you referred to, Gatemouth, the link seems to be working fine so far as I can tell. "Brainbus" came up with some explanations I never thought of. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more on this story–stuff that even Brainbus hasn’t thought of…
Hey Gatemouth, one more question: Are you part of BrainBus.com? Because when I clicked on your name, that’s what I got? Just curious…
No, I just surf their site a lot. But I put the link in the "URL" field on your form because it didn’t seem to work when I tried to put it in the "Comment" field. It seems whatever link is put in the URL field becomes the link for the name.
I still think there’s a problem with links put in the "Comment field". This is the second time I’ve tried, and both times I’ve gotten the same result: your URL pasted onto the beginning of mine, which makes it not work.
If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, you might want to forward my message to your "blogmaster" and see if he/she knows what the problem is.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, though I’m not sure what to do about it. I don’t know if there is a "blogmaster," given that the few times I sought technical help from blog.com, I never got a response. Your links seem to work when I click on them, but I’m not saying you’ve had a problem on your end. I’m sorry about the frustrations you’ve encounter–I’ve had problems myself writing comments/responses on this blog–and I wish I had more to offer in the way of technical advice. Oh well…
That’s all right. The site seems to work 99% of the time–and that’s a hell of a lot better than most things I deal with.
