THOSE WACKOS NEAR WACO —————- by Steve Nadis

A bunch of “kooks” are holding vigil outside Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, upset, among other things, about their sons or daughters being killed in a senseless war in Iraq that has no end in sight. Cindy Sheehan and the other protestors feel strongly enough about their views to have traveled across the country to camp out in Bush’s front yard in the hopes of discussing their concerns with the president. But the Commander-in-Chief has made it perfectly clear that he will not meet with them, as he’s also in the midst of something he feels equally strongly about–vacation.

Boy what is with these folks? How DARE they disturb our commander in chief when he is so busy running his chainsaw and painting the shed! Gad, it’s like they think their concern for their children is more important than ranch maintenance.

I think she should leave it alone. Her son was a courageous man who volunteered to go out on a detail which he didn’t have to actually do but he thought it was his duty I guess. Anyone who decides to risk their life like that knows what the consequences can be. God Bless him for being so devoted to his job. A true American. She should be proud of him and pray for his place in heaven. It was his decision, his valor, and sadly his great loss and hers apparently. Pres. Bush has his own children to be concerned about.

Hey Doc, I agree that ranch maintenance–especially brush clearing (an important topic here at Call Me Snake)–is, and ought to be, a top priority. I thank Mike for his note too, though I wanted to respond to that last sentence. Yes, President Bush does have his own children to be concerned about. But I don’t think there’s a chance he would have allowed his girls to enlist and fight in Iraq. And even if he didn’t object, I doubt very much that Laura would have let that happen.

What the hell is the matter with those kooks? How would they like it if the President interrupted their vacations with his problems? How incredibly selfish of them!

  5. Snake says:

When people stop respecting the sanctity of the vacation, we (as a society) are all in trouble.
