THE ULTIMATE WAR CRIME? — by Steve Nadis
And here we are, three-and-a-half years after “shock and awe,” with thousands of American soldiers dead and a far greater (though unknown) number of dead Iraqis, locked in a pointless, though bloody, conflict, with no end in sight. All because Rove reasoned, and Bush and Cheney heartily agreed, that a war would serve Republican interests well. When you think about it, the whole thing is sickening. If that’s not a war crime, I don’t know what is.
Here’s another irony to consider: Clinton was pilloried, and almost hounded from office, for being less than forthcoming about a minor sexual dalliance; meanwhile these cold-blooded criminals, who started a senseless war for political gain, run free.
The world will be holding their breaths during the next US elections because as appallingly as the US administration acted it will be much more frightening if the majority of the US people do NOT react.
How can one president be impeached for his promiscuousness, while another commander-in-chief commits vociferous crimes against humanity but won’t be challenged to (at least!) stop the madness called war is… beyond my mind’s capacity.
Well put, FW. And I’m afraid I have no answers.
I think whomever this was that wrote this book gives Karl Rove far too much credit, and it sounds like alot of far left conspiracy theory. I’m not agreeing with the rational of our war efforts, simply my own point of view that lead me to the same conclusion. And while I do take Bush for a dullard who may be persuaded to make some terrible decision like that, Chenney (the prince of darkness) is not that stupid. He and Rumsfeld have been running their own game of political interests and profits since the Ford administration, which was remarkable similar to what they are doing now under Bush… look into it, it’s facinating; and yes, they were together back then too.
I do agree completely that this war turned out to be a sham, and the fact that we have faulty documents that Bush admits to having seen and ignored in order to go into Iraq, well; I don’t see how Clinton got all that heat for a BJ and Bush gets not so much as a wagged finger from the Senate. Baffling.
sorry guys ,, FLUBBERWINKLE
is absolutely right ,,
the american people got about two years to
repeat the revolution of 1776,
getting back , the “FOR THE PEOPLE”,
because when you as a nation have bombed thousands
unjustly and killed , and invaded countries ,
taking them over , at will …!
just so a handful of rich families which govern
your great country , can get richer,,.
WELL what do you think the rest of the world
is thinking about , for the american nation,,,?
MAYBE THE CHRISTIAN SLOGAN
“DO UNTO OTHERS AS THEY HAVE DONE UN TO YOU”
do you think many of the rest of the world
will FLINCH , if the american
nation is set , upon , diseases,terrorist acts ,
and other bad omens ,,,, think not,,!

“Less than Forthcoming about a minor sexual Dalliance (oh, I LIKE that word-don’t get to use it much) ” ???
Try… he outright lied to the American public & Congress.
But, no matter. That SHOULDa been between Him & Hil (& miss fatty). Look at all the other presidents “guilty” of sexual improprieties!
As far as Cheney & his crew, replace “run free” with “dictate freely”. Welcome to the New Imperialism.
Thank GOD the Senate & House passed the 2 term limit. Can’t imagine the Repubs’ll come up w/ a worse frontman.
But, we’ve been surprised before!
I hear Toronto is wonderful this time of year.
Thanks GS, Z, & MP — You’ve all given us a lot to think about and possibly too much…
very good!
