HELP WANTED — by Steve Nadis
As I always say, you never know what will come in over the air waves (or digital electronic waves)–the following job posting, which I received this morning, being a case in point: “I am in immediate need of retaining the services of a ghost writer/researcher to assist me in writing a weekly health newsletterand various other health and nutrition writings. Best case for us would be an experienced health and nutrition writer who is skilled at taking complex information and effectively communicating it to lay people while still interesting to practitioners. Working knowledge of the Bible a plus.”

Does the Bible fall under health or nutrition? A lot of people die or get killed in the Bible, and there’s all that leprosy and poor birth control, so it doesn’t seem like it’s the best source for health info.
On the other hand, it doesn’t seem like a good resource for nutrition info, either. I mean, one minute people are eating good things like fruit and olives and fish and unleavened bread, and the next they’re gorging themselves on a lot of fatty sheep. And manna–try finding that at Trader Joe’s!
Thanks Gatemouth, most edifying. At the risk of oversimplifying, it sounds to me as if: damned if you do, damned if you don’t. (Or am I mis- or overinterpreting?)
Wait, don’t tell me. . . the job posting was titled: “Holy Ghost Writer Needed”.
The posting I saw didn’t have a title. Probably because they hadn’t thought of the brilliant one you came up with.
