“Rich men must live in fear of this moment,” my wife said upon seeing the headline of Monday’s Boston Globe: “Tom Brady’s former girlfriend pregnant.” The article discussed Bridget Mohnahan’s pregnancy and her claim about Brady’s role in that development.
My wife might be right about this (she usually is), but I think a person of modest means would fear that sort of moment more than a multi-multi-millionaire star athlete. Besides, Brady has already moved on to supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and for all I know he’s on her right now.
As for the Globe, the decision to make the Brady story the headline is surely one of its lowpoints. Now the only thing separating it from the New York Post is that the Post would have been sure to have a good, saucy title to go along with such a dubious story

are you kidding me, America is discustingly obcessed with celebs. I can’t even hear about my fellow men and women in uniform overseas without getting 20 minutes of who is going to get Anna Nicole Smiths body. Seriously, it’s embalmed, its not going anywhere.
Anyway, I’ve got to go rob a bank without a gun; American Idol is on in a few hours.
Ahhh.. but a “person of modest means” would be unlikely to find his name plastered across a major newspaper. The wife is right(they always are)on this one.

The reading public seems mesmerized lately by drunken or drugged-out, lonely girls who are trying to live out a fantasy life.
But do I want to really be part of this Roman Holiday?
These are the misfortunates of fleeting celebrity who lay stoned, injured or dead on the field, while the TRUE slaughter goes on unabated..often forgotten by many of us- who’ve grown numb to the Headlines of roadside bombings- tens of thousands of miles away.
By the way, Snake, I respect what Bill C. & George Sr. are doing internationally. It must be so puzzling to so many around the World that his idiot son’s actions & directives are continuing to steer the Country on a direct course towards the Reefs of Disaster. Jan ‘09 can’t come soon enough. We need to take Cheney down w/ Halliburton- NOW!

It’s hard for me to know what George Sr. thinks but it might be painful to see what his offspring is doing. It’s certainly painful for the rest of us — and pretty much the whole world.
