The Only Guy to Sleep Alone on a Waterbed in Harvard Yard in the 70s — by Steve Nadis

In the 70s, while I was still a high school student, I crashed in a Harvard dormitory during an East coast college tour. Upon recounting that anecdote decades later to a friend and Harvard graduate, I said I must have been “the only guy to sleep alone on a waterbed in Harvard Yard in the 70s.” And I still stand by that statement.

Must have been cold out in the Yard. Was the bed too heavy to bring inside? I’m surprised you didn’t wake up with a couple of homeless guys in bed with you.

OK wise guy, I meant a waterbed inside a dormitory in Harvard Yard.

That’s the image you painted in my head, too, Snake!
“Crashing in a yard” in the 70s was the norm. (I did a lot
    of it.)
SO, are you implying that all Harvard undergraduates with waterbeds had regular sexual partners… or that you’re sure you were the only guy unlucky enouh to snooze solo?
(Personally, waterbeds make me seasick. I’d take a big soft mattress Any day)

I’m with you on that, Anon. I’m no fan of water beds but back then it was an experience.
