SMALL COINCIDENCES — by Steve Nadis
Life is full of small coincidences that are too inconsequential to report on–unless, that is, you have a blog and little else on your mind. Today, as I walked to the Cambridge Y, I saw a guy whose last name is Azar. A fraction of a second later (and the next thing of note that registered), I saw a big truck with the word “AGAR” emblazoned on it. No big deal? You’re probably right but, as I suggested before, it was the best I could come up with.
As you can see, my original goal for this blog, “one good idea a day,” has been replaced by one idea a day, which in turn has been supplanted by “just about anything a day or, if not a day, just about anything whenever.”
I never realized that was the original goal of your blog.
How far we (I)have fallen.
Just read your article in the summer 2007 ScienceWriters. Enjoyed it immensely, especially as an antidote to all the overwhelming achievements reported there by our peers. The MSM may be on the ropes, but obviously science writing - and humor writing - are not! Thankew!
PS: Why not include somewhere here a link to your column?
Thanks John; that’s one of the nicest comments I’ve received here at Call Me Snake. The Cambridge Chronicle can be found online at: http://www.townonline.com/cambridge/. From there click on “Lifestyle” and then “Columnists.”
