‘VIRTUALLY IMPOTENT’ — by Steve Nadis
Bush surrogate, Frances Fragos Townsend, claims that Osama bin-Laden is “virtually impotent”–hiding out in caves where all he can do is make the occasional video. But why is the Bush administration taunting bin-Laden? If Osama wants to make videos, I say fine, more power to him. In fact, he can make all the videos he wants, so far as I’m concerned. I even know some underemployed TV and video producers who could use the work.
What does President Bush want? Does he want bin-Laden to keep hiding and pop up on TV from time to time? Or would he rather that Osama stage another 9/11-style attack on the U.S.? I know what I’d prefer. But then again, who asked me? I’m not “the decider.”
Snake, I think you misunderstood. Townshend was refering to Bin Laden’s sexual impotence, which is a big deal, because if he can’t perform, then what’s the point of getting those 72 virgins when he goes to heaven?
And if he’s not going to get his 72 virgins, or if the virgins are going to nag him for the rest of eternity because he can’t get his “mojo” working, then where’s his incentive to be a martyr? And if he’s not going to be a martyr, then he might as well come out of his cave, get back on the Saudi family payroll, and enjoy the good life while he’s still got it; right?
So this is all about capitalism and self-interest and an aging prostate defeating terrorism, which, as Martha would say, “Is a good thing.” (Plus, if Bin Laden does decide to continue his terrorist ways, we have him by the balls, as it were. Because Viagra is made in America.)
Wow, Gatemouth, I WAS misinformed. Thanks once again for clearing up my boundless confusion.
