THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT HOCKEY MOMS — by Steve Nadis

The whole problem stems from the “hockey mom” statement, for were it not for that Barack Obama might not have made the unfortunate pork reference and the wingnuts might not have been able to claim the moral high ground once again, as they always seem to do. (Don’t get me started.)  If people think you’re calling someone a pig, they might find that offensive. (More likely they’re trying to make other people think that you’re the pig.) Others found Obama’s statement offensive to pigs in general. But no one else, so far as I know, has identified the true source of the problem which lies in the original statement about hockey moms. That insensitive remark, by the redoubtable Sarah P., was blatantly offensive to pit bulls–with or without lipstick.

I think it FAR more offensive to say outright that it is “God’s will” that we be in Iraq. What f%#$@ Bible is SHE reading? I must have the wrong version.
Killing in the name of God… Gosh, what a novel idea!
(Why isn’t the press making a bigger deal out of THAT?)

Good point, Anon. However, I will say (though I am by no means a religious scholar) that there is a long, rich tradition of killing in the name of god. You can put lipstick on that religious tradition, but it’s still killing people. You can wrap it in a newspaper, but the dead bodies still stink. This I believe… –Snake
