THE SCARLET LETTER REDUX — by Steve Nadis

A friend who is in the process of getting a divorce told me to call him an adulterer. And I suppose technically he is–at least for another few months. But I’ve never used the word. I guess it’s a bit too judgmental for my tastes. This time, though, I had a golden opportunity as the guy was practically begging me to say it. I didn’t and may have missed my last best chance.

  1. I don’t want to put this guy down, because if he’s your friend, I’m sure he’s a nice guy. But perhaps he doesn’t deserve the distinction he seeks (for better or worse).

Good point, GM. Maybe we won’t put emblazon that scarlet letter “A” on his clothing… –S

  3. How about a scarlet “B+”?

Sorry ma, that was bad judgment on my part. I’d like to blame it on my friend who was egging me on but as you’ve told me so many times before, that’s no excuse… –S
